The Suffering Servant | A Good Friday Reflection from Isaiah 53
Good Friday is an invitation to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. One of the earliest explanations of why Jesus needed to die for our sins was written more than 700 years before the crucifixion. In Isaiah 52:13-53:12, the prophet Isaiah describes a figure known as the Servant of the Lord.
Running the Race Together
Each month we are reminded how much your partnership matters, not only in the big ministry moments, but also in the everyday experiences of learning language, building relationships, and discovering how God is opening doors in unexpected ways.
Life and Ministry in Costa Rica
Since early January, our family has been living in Costa Rica, where we are in a season of intensive spiritual, cultural, linguistic, missiological, and theological formation. This training season will continue through August, after which we will transition to Mexico City to begin the next phase of our assignment.
We Landed Safely in San Jose, Costa Rica!
We wanted to share a quick update now that we’ve officially been in San José, Costa Rica for one full week. So far, we are absolutely loving it. The weather has been amazing, the scenery is beautiful, and the people have been incredibly kind and welcoming.
Merry Christmas!
As we celebrate Christmas, we are grateful for the gift of Jesus and for each of you who walks alongside us in this season. This time of year reminds us that God is present, faithful, and still at work in the world. We are thankful for His calling on our family and for the community He has placed around us as we continue to follow Him.
The Lord’s Timing is Perfect
In August, we had the opportunity to travel down the West Coast and visit several churches in Washington and California who are partnering with us to reach Mexico City.
We're Commissioned as Missionary Associates!
We are thrilled to announce that our missions sending agency, Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM), officially commissioned us as Missionary Associates in June! We spent two and a half weeks in Springfield, Missouri, along with 100+ missionaries, receiving training that challenged, equipped, and inspired us to continue pursuing God's call to reach Mexico with the gospel.
God is Good, and So Are His People
We use this phrase quite often in our home; it sums up our experience with God and the church. God is inherently good. He's a loving father full of love, compassion, and mercy. We have experienced His love and presence firsthand.
Though the church is made of imperfect people, it is the conduit God chose to make His name known. Kayla and I are both children of the church.
